FRAMEWORK: CHUSEN

This series uses “Chusen,” a traditional Japanese dyeing technique. Pouring dye over folded fabric or garments and letting it seep through the layers of cloth recreates the blurred outlines that emerge when light shines on a garment. This creates a look in which the boundaries between the garment, the wearer's body, and the surrounding space become blurred.
