12.08.2026 | GOOD GOODS ISSEY MIYAKE Launch of The New Project “Material in Progress”

Material in Progress

GOOD GOODS ISSEY MIYAKE continues to create things while pursuing “good things” and focusing on the relationship between things and the people who use them. Together with the design office DAIKEI MILLS, the brand will launch a research project titled “Material in Progress,” themed on creating new materials born from dialogue.

What makes a material appealing?
Beyond appearance and feel, materials can also be shaped by the unintended accumulation of actions and time.
This project aims to draw out new appeal in materials through the relationship between people and things.

The first installment is a limited-time event held at CIBONE in Omotesando from Wednesday, August 19. Visitors will be able to take part in the process of creating new materials. The materials created here will be stored and reflected in future manufacturing.
The second installment of the project is also planned for this autumn at SKAC (SKWAT KAMEARI ART CENTRE).

At the limited-time event, alongside this project, four series will be featured: the washable knit bags series that exemplify the brand — “MOKKO,” “FUWA FUWA,” and “BOX” — as well as the “JABARA” series, which includes new items. We hope you will join us for this special occasion.
