ISSEY MIYAKE MEN's Autumn/Winter 2019 theme is “Feeling the Wind.”
Inspired by the wind, which is sometimes light, sometimes wild, and infinitely free and powerful, we have expressed various forms of “wind” with flickering Fringe and speedy border patterns. increase.
In this exhibition, we will introduce “WHIRLWIND” designed with “vortex” as a motif.

A pattern that boldly expresses the movement of the wind that rolls up violently. This was created by drawing a number of moving “lines” on paper with a brush and combining them on a computer.
In conjunction with this exhibition, hand-dyeing craftsmen in Kyoto created a “WHIRLWIND” wrapping cloth with this pattern. In this exhibition, along with viewing this furoshiki, we will introduce the original drawings of the “lines” that are the basis of the pattern and the tools used for hand-printing, allowing you to experience the craftsmanship associated with “WHIRLWIND.”
